Description

Hippocampal activity supports internal representation of learned experiences and contexts, which allows individuals to form long-term memories. This study investigated hippocampal maps formed under structured attention with learning rules stabilize and maintain task-selectivity during memory recall. They used longitudinal two-photon imaging of hundreds of hippocampal CA1 pyramidal neurons while mice learned and performed a context-dependent spatial navigation task. The experiments were performed with adult male GP5.5 mice. This dataset includes behavioral, two-photon imaging, and modeling data. The study reveal that memory demand and attention stabilize hippocampal activity to maintain contextually rich spatial representations.
