- The Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) Program at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) is the authoritative source of information on cancer incidence and survival in the United States. SEER collects data on cancer incidence and population data associated by age, sex, race, year of diagnosis, and geographic area from registries across the country, covering approximately 48% of the national population. Data is collected yearly in November and is released the following spring. Incidence data is available from 1975 to the present.

Researchers with no affiliations who do not possess an eRA Commons account must complete the Research Data Access application form. This tier will not be able to request or access Research Plus Data.
SEER will process requests within 2 business days and generate a username and password. This username and password is required to access the data through SEER*Stat. Research Plus and specialized databases include limited use data. A summary of the access requirements by product type can be found on this webpage.
