NYU Dataset

Recordings made using a silicon probe from three areas from a single rat while performing different behavioral tasks

Alternate Titles(s): HC-5
UID: 10383
Description

This dataset contains recordings made using a silicon probe from three areas from a single rat that was performing different behavioral tasks. The three regions recorded from are left and right hippocampal CA1 and right entorhinal cortex. The tasks are a left/right alternate selection task, wheel running, and platform exploration. The neural data was recorded on 125 channels.

In the study, five rats were implanted with movable, multiple-site silicon probes in the dorsal hippocampus and the dorsocaudal medial entorhinal cortex. They were trained in four different testing environments. Then, neurophysiological signals were acquired continuously and analyzed offline.

Included in the dataset are the following items:

  • Waveforms of putative spikes extracted from original raw broadband data
  • LFPs (local field potentials)
  • Results of spike sorting
  • Information about the animal behavior during the experiment
