This dataset is student-level administrative data. It is compiled by the New York City Department of Education (DOE) as part of their Fitnessgram program. Fitnessgram is a fitness assessment for students K - 12 in the New York City public schools. As a part of this program, data is collected about student height, weight, fitness level, strength, endurance, and flexibility. Data collection began in the 2005 to 2006 school year, and data is available at the level of the individual student.

Instructions
Researchers are required to request data through the NYC Department of Education (DOE) and must be approved by the IRB. All data requests are reviewed by the Data Request Committee and all requests must be submitted through the DOE's electronic submission platform, IRBManager. Detailed instructions on how to use IRBManager are available. Data requests also require the completion of a Non-Disclosure Agreement, and requests can take 4 - 6 weeks to process.
