Data from Mucosal Immune Profiling in Patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease

- Description
This study dataset contains data from 28 adult and pediatric patients who were recruited from NYU Langone's Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Center. Study inclusion and exclusion criteria are noted below.
Inclusion criteria:
- Subjects must have a suspected diagnosis of ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease
- Controls must have no clinical suspicion of ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease
- Signed and dated informed consent/assent forms and document(s) indicating that the adult subject and/or the parent or legal guardian of pediatric subjects were informed of all pertinent aspects of the study.
- Ability to be compliant and complete the study protocol.
- Pregnant patients, patients with impaired cognition, and prisoners
- Subjects who are receiving systemic anticoagulation (e.g. heparin or warfarin)
The following assessments were completed:
- Demographics and medical history: date of birth, body mass index (BMI), smoking status, gender, ethnicity, race, health insurance, age of IBD diagnosis, presence of extra-intestinal manifestations, family history of IBD, hospitalization for flares
- Medication history: aminosalicylate (5-ASA), steroids, mercaptopurine (6-MP)/azathioprine/methotrexate/ anti-tumor necrosis factor (anti-TNF), vedolizumab, ustekinumab, tofacitinib, antibiotics
- Other medical history: History of enteric infection, personal history of autoimmunity, family history of other autoimmunity, history of cancer list of non-IBD medications
- Clinical scores: Partial Mayo Score, Endoscopic Mayo Score, Charlson Comorbidity index
- Recent labs ( +/- 4 weeks): Albumin, C-reactive protein (CRP), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), hemoglobin, stool calprotectin
- IBD surgical history: number of IBD surgeries, type of surgeries and date of surgeries
- Biospecimen collection: blood (for serum and DNA extraction), tissue, stool, biopsy
