Qualitative Assessment on Evidence-based Tobacco Use Treatment in Vietnam Health Centers
- Description
This dataset contains qualitative data from semi-structured interviews with 52 health care providers at 13 community health centers (CHC) that participated in the VQuit randomized controlled trial in rural Thai Nguyen, Vietnam. Findings from VQuit indicated that a multicomponent intervention increased provider adherence to tobacco dependence treatment guidelines. In total, 13 medical directors (all physicians), 25 nurses, and 14 village health workers (VHW) were interviewed in Vietnamese. The interviews were audiotaped, transcribed verbatim, translated, then coded.
Interview topics assessed the five domains of the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR) as applied to the context of the VQuit intervention: Intervention characteristics, inner setting, outer setting, characteristics of individuals involved in implementation, and the implementation process. The interview also examined the potential for long-term maintenance of tobacco dependence treatment.
