- Between 2010 and 2011, the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene conducted the Physical Activity and Transit Survey (PAT). PAT includes three datasets collected via the following methods:
- A telephone survey (both landline and cell) from 3811 respondents asking about physical activity at work, in the home, for recreation and commuting and how often New Yorkers engaged in active transportation (e.g., walking and biking) and sedentary behaviors. The survey also asked a variety of questions on neighborhood safety and access to food, and about general physical and mental health.
- Week-long accelerometer data for valid cases (wear time 10+ hours on 4+ days) from 679 respondents
- Raw minute-by-minute accelerometer data for 1 week from 679 respondents
