    NYU Langone submits data to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Hospital Inpatient Quality Reporting (Hospital IQR) program, and this dataset consists of that submission. The Hospital IQR program collects data on the quality of services provided by hospitals. Hospitals submit quality measures as determined on an annual basis to CMS. These include information on surgical care, re-admission rates, nursing sensitivity, patient safety, medicines prescribed, health behavior counseling, patient health, patient outcomes, and patient experience. Hospital IQR measures are publicly reported on Hospital Compare.

    This dataset is the NYU Langone submission to the ACC NCDR CathPCI registry. The American College of Cardiology National Cardiovascular Data Registry (ACC NCDR) CathPCI Registry assesses characteristics, treatments, and outcomes of cardiac disease patients who receive diagnostic catheterization or percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) procedures. The registry data measures adherence to ACC/AHA clinical practice guideline recommendations, procedure performance standards, and appropriate use criteria for coronary revascularization. The CathPCI registry collects demographics, provider and facility characteristics, history/risk factors, cardiac status, treated lesions, intracoronary device utilization rates, adverse event rates, appropriate use criteria and compliance with ACC/AHA clinical guideline recommendations.

    Description

    This dataset includes 24 structured, in-depth interviews with 24 physicians treating prostate cancer from diverse clinical backgrounds and geographic areas. These physicians were identified with purposive sampling strategies. An interview guide was developed based on a literature review and previous research on active surveillance, and interviews were conducted between July and December 2015. Each interview lasted between 22 and 51 minutes and was conducted either in-person or by telephone. Interviews focus on the use of active surveillance for prostate cancer and include questions on the use of specific protocols, how physicians choose the frequency of follow-up tests, opinions on testing options, and comfort levels with active surveillance.
