    NYU Langone submits data to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Hospital Inpatient Quality Reporting (Hospital IQR) program, and this dataset consists of that submission. The Hospital IQR program collects data on the quality of services provided by hospitals. Hospitals submit quality measures as determined on an annual basis to CMS. These include information on surgical care, re-admission rates, nursing sensitivity, patient safety, medicines prescribed, health behavior counseling, patient health, patient outcomes, and patient experience. Hospital IQR measures are publicly reported on Hospital Compare.

  • National Home and Hospice Care Survey

    Description

    The National Home and Hospice Care Survey (NHHCS) is a series of nationally representative sample surveys of U.S. home health and hospice agencies. It is meant to provide descriptive information on home health and hospice agencies, their staff, their services, and their patients. Information collected on agencies includes the year an agency was established, the types of services provided, referral sources, specialty programs, and staff characteristics. Data collected on home health patients and hospice discharges include age, sex, race, ethnicity, services received, length of time since admission, diagnoses, medications taken, advance directive, and more. Surveys have been conducted in 1992, 1993, 1994, 1996, 1998, 2000, and 2007, but data is only available online from 1996 forward. Sample design varies by year, and the survey was redesigned and expanded for 2007. It now includes a supplemental survey of home health aides employed by home health and/or hospice agencies.

Data collected in N-SSATS include topics covering facility operation, services offered, primary focus, hotline operation, Opioid Treatment Programs and medications dispensed or prescribed, counseling and therapeutic approaches, special programs or groups, languages in which treatment is provided, type of treatment provided, number of clients, number of beds, types of payment accepted, sliding fee scale, and facility accreditation and licensure/certification.

    This dataset is the NYULMC submission to the NDNQI registry. The National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators is a registry of 18 nursing-sensitive quality indicators including hospital acquired conditions and adverse events. These include catheter-associated urinary tract infections, central line-associated blood stream infections, patient falls, pressure ulcers and ventilator-associated pneumonia and events. The NDNQI also includes information on job satisfaction and practice environment of over 300,000 nurses.

    This dataset is the NYU Langone submission to the ACC NCDR CathPCI registry. The American College of Cardiology National Cardiovascular Data Registry (ACC NCDR) CathPCI Registry assesses characteristics, treatments, and outcomes of cardiac disease patients who receive diagnostic catheterization or percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) procedures. The registry data measures adherence to ACC/AHA clinical practice guideline recommendations, procedure performance standards, and appropriate use criteria for coronary revascularization. The CathPCI registry collects demographics, provider and facility characteristics, history/risk factors, cardiac status, treated lesions, intracoronary device utilization rates, adverse event rates, appropriate use criteria and compliance with ACC/AHA clinical guideline recommendations.
