Aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) is a ligand-activated transcription factor whose ligands include the environmental contaminant 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD). Ligand-activated AhR binds to DNA at dioxin response elements (DREs).
