    Basal forebrain cholinergic neuron (BFCN) degeneration is an indicator of Down syndrome (DS) and Alzheimer’s disease (AD). The Ts65Dn (Ts) mouse model recapitulates both cognitive and morphological deficits of DS and AD, including BFCN degeneration.
