Alternate Titles(s): NYC COVID-19 CHRNA
- Description
The NYC COVID-19 Community Health Resources and Needs Assessment (CHRNA) survey was a collaboration between the NYU Center for the Study of Asian American Health, the Coalition for Asian American Children and Families, the Chinese-American Planning Council, and 28 community partners. The COVID-19 CHRNA survey was developed to understand the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Asian American, Hispanic, and Arab communities in New York City.
Survey topics included COVID-19 testing and vaccination acceptance, food hardships and access to food, language and accessibility, economic impact, housing, healthcare utilization and access, experiences of anti-Asian hate and discrimination, and support from community-based organizations.
Eligible participants were 18 years of age or older; self-identified as Asian American; Arab American, or Latinx; and resided in the NYC metropolitan area. The survey was administered online using REDCap between April 23, 2021 and November 5, 2021 in the following languages: Bangla, Burmese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, Nepali, Punjabi, Spanish, Tagalog, Urdu, and Vietnamese. A total of 1,270 reported Asian ancestry and 79 reported Hispanic/Latinx ancestry, for a total of 1,349 participants in this dataset. The Arab sample was too small to be included.
