Description

This dataset supports a meta-analysis of spiral ganglion cell (SGC) counts and speech perception of adult patients with cochlear implants. A total of 13 studies were included and a PRISMA flow diagram can be found with the publication (see Associated Publications). Subjects were excluded from the meta-analysis if they were duplicate, had electrode insertions under 15 mm, or had unknown insertion depths. The final analysis contained data from 60 subjects across the 13 studies. If multiple SGC counts were available for a subject, the investigators selected the most recent count.
