Quarterly Workforce Indicators
Alternate Titles(s): QWI
UID: 10147
- Description
- Since 2003, the Quarterly Workforce Indicators (QWI) have been compiled by the Longitudinal Employer-Household Dynamics (LEHD) program at the U.S. Census Bureau using state administrative records on employment, Social Security data, federal tax records, as well as other census and survey data. The QWI provides detailed estimates of employment and earnings indicators at the local level, typically down to the county or metro area. Variables include estimated employment rates, earnings, gross job creation and destruction, and worker turnover. Data are available by industry, categorized in accordance with 2012 North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes. Data can also be queried by firm characteristics, worker characteristics, employment indicators, and fiscal quarter.
