Description
This dataset was generated by a randomized controlled trial to evaluate the effectiveness of a culturally tailored, evidence-based adherence intervention (AI) for Latino patients delivered by bilingual Health Coaches versus usual care (UC). 112 Latino patients with uncontrolled hypertension who were non-adherent to their anti-hypertensive medications were consented into the study. Data was collected at baseline, 1 month, 3 months, and 6 months. Medication adherence was measured with an electronic drug monitoring device (EMD). Data collected includes blood pressure measurements, medication adherence, participant demographics, self-reported health literacy, cognitive functioning (CARE-DIAG), illness beliefs (IPQ-R), attitudes about medication, intrinsic motivation (TSRQ), self-efficacy (MASE), and an electronic medical record chart review.
