Description
The Los Angeles County Health Survey (LACHS) is a population-based telephone survey that has been conducted approximately every three years since 1997 by the Office of Health Assessment and Epidemiology (OHAE) at the Department of Public Health of Los Angeles County. LACHS collects information about overall health, health care issues, and health indicators of physical and mental well-being from a representative sample of adults and children in Los Angeles County, including a minimum of 500 responses from each of the county's eight Service Planning Areas.

Data tables from the Los Angeles County Health Survey (LACHS) are available by survey year and topic. Trend data tables are also available and sorted by specific topic of interest.

De-identified data collected from the 2015 and 2018 surveys without sub-county geographic information may be requested by submitting a completed Data Access Form to LAHealthData@ph.lacounty.gov. The Data Access Form can be downloaded from the Access Link.

The full LACHS datasets with sub-country geographic information can be requested for health related research purposes by entering into a formal research agreement with the Office of Health Assessment and Epidemiology (OHAE). Requests to use the full LACHS datasets are considered on a case-by-case basis.
